What should I do if my USB drive is detected with a virus?
If your USB drive shows a virus, back up your files and format the drive to remove all data, including the virus. If the virus reappears after formatting, your computer is likely infected and rewriting it onto the drive. Contact your computer repair service or antivirus provider to clean your computer before reusing the USB drive again.
What if photos on my memory card appear gray/black or files are corrupted?
Memory card photos may appear gray, black, or corrupted for several reasons: the card was not formatted by your device, used as a USB drive for data from other devices, the camera ran on low or unstable power during shooting, the card was removed during read or write, or the card itself is faulty. Format the card in your device after backing up data.
Possible causes for corrupted files or photos displaying black/gray on your memory card:
- Memory card not formatted by the device. Excessive data causes fragmented files, leading to corrupted photos.
- Using the memory card as a USB drive to store data from other devices causes non-contiguous photo data and file corruption.
- Camera running on low battery or unstable power during shooting.
- Removing the card while it's still reading/writing.
- Memory card malfunction.
If you experience the above, format the memory card using your device before further use. (Back up data to your computer before formatting)
